Emily Ray’s vision for her company first began to surface during her college and early adult years while working in sales, buying and management for various specialty boutiques and gift stores.
In 1990 she already had three small children, and with two in school and one in tow she sold her designs to boutiques within a daytrip of her Columbus, Mississippi home. After putting children to bed, her nights were spent at her kitchen table making jewelry to fill orders she had taken during the day.
Retailers quickly noticed the impact of her designs and innovative approach to servicing their needs. And so, in 1993 Emily decided to turn her sideline into a full fledged business. She moved her family from Mississippi to a small farm house owned by her father, in the countryside of Woodruff, South Carolina. Here Emily’s father allowed her to live rent free while Emily Ray, Inc. was born.
Sixteen years later, Emily Ray, Inc. still faithfully adheres to the exceptional principals Emily adopted from the first day her business began. Emily Ray, Inc. is a company dedicated to providing outstanding customer service to specialty retailers and delivering innovative and affordable jewelry designs of unrivaled quality.
Emily Ray has grown from a mere dream at a kitchen table into a multi-million dollar company located in high-tech facilities in Spartanburg, SC. Today the company sells to over a thousand specialty stores throughout the U.S.
Emily’s oldest child, Mallory now works along side Mom as a designer. Together they design three fresh new collections each year using personally chosen jewelry components from the finest quality found around the globe.
